Hailey Wood (poem)
A single floret of wild cherry,
Never but meagre petal,
Spiralled softly to land by my feet,
In the stillness of a late April day;
Eternally fallen but fulfilled and complete,
A gift from a forest to a wanderer of woods,
And loved in its moment of beauty:
For in that moment spring lay down before me,
And told me how much I loved her,
So I could love her more.
